Mass Audubon's Property Regulations

What These Mean on a Visit
Stay on the Trails
The sanctuary protects field, forest and wetland habitat, and the farm's crop fields are working ground. Walk only on the marked trails; the trail map shows them all.
No Bikes
Foot travel only means no bicycles on the trails. Powered mobility devices for people with disabilities are allowed with a day pass; see accessibility.
Don't Feed the Animals
Mass Audubon asks visitors not to feed the farm animals, for the animals' safety and yours; the farmers do the feeding. The ban on feeding wildlife covers wild animals and birds too.
Leave It Where It Is
Collecting is prohibited, so leave plants, rocks and animals where you find them. The one exception is designed for kids: the treasure boxes on the Forest Discovery Trail invite children to leave a natural treasure.
No Fishing
Drumlin Farm's small ponds are for wildlife watching, not fishing.
Photography
Personal photos are fine. Commercial photography needs Mass Audubon's approval in advance; its photography guidelines are linked from the Drumlin Farm page.
Other Things to Know
- The barns lock 15 minutes before the farm closes. See hours.
- Food can be served but not prepared at rented spaces such as the Bluebird Pavilion.
