What You'll See
The Trustees call deCordova the largest park of its kind in New England, about 20 miles west of Boston. Its 30 acres of trails, open lawns and gardens show modern and contemporary outdoor sculpture, more than 50 works at any time and roughly 60 at a time, according to The Trustees. Works rotate, so a repeat visit can look different.
The Museum
The Trustees say the indoor galleries are closed for renovation. Public programs, private events and lectures still take place in the building, and the Sculpture Park, café and store are open. Check before you go if you were hoping to see an indoor exhibition.
Dogs
Unlike Drumlin Farm, deCordova welcomes dogs: The Trustees ask you to keep them on a leash and pick up after them. That makes it the natural swap if your dog is in the car; see dogs at Drumlin Farm.
Parking and Access
The Trustees mention a main parking lot plus an upper lot used for special events, with wheelchair-accessible spaces. Most of the grounds are grass and paved path or drive, with one accessible pathway through the property; other areas are wheelchair friendly with assistance.
Pairing deCordova With Drumlin Farm
deCordova and Drumlin Farm are both in Lincoln and keep similar daytime hours, and both are closed on ordinary Mondays. One plan: animals and the drumlin at Drumlin Farm in the morning, lunch at the Twisted Tree Café, and the sculpture park in the afternoon. Note the different rules: dogs on a leash at deCordova, no dogs at Drumlin.
Good For / Maybe Skip If
Good for: art lovers, families (free under 13), dog owners, photographers.
Maybe skip if: you came for indoor galleries; they are closed for renovation as of October 2026.
