Birthday Parties & Rentals

Drumlin Farm rents two spaces for birthday parties and small events. The Bluebird Pavilion, an outdoor shelter for up to 40 people, costs $400 for a four-hour party of up to 30 guests. The heated Pond House cabin holds 25 and costs $100 an hour. Food can be served but not prepared on site, and there are no private rentals from June to August, when camp fills the farm.

Bluebird Pavilion

An outdoor, sheltered space that Mass Audubon suggests for picnics, children's birthday parties, lectures and casual gatherings. It has lights and electrical outlets and is a short walk from the restrooms and the farmyard.

• Capacity: 40 people.
• Available: April through early June and September through November, Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Rates: $400 for a four-hour event with up to 30 people; $8 for each additional guest, to a maximum of 40; $800 for a full day.

Pond House

A blue cabin next to the Nature Center and the Mass Audubon Shop, overlooking Ice Pond, a hot spot for turtles, frogs and birds. It is heated, with several outlets and plenty of tables and chairs, plus two picnic tables outside. There is no running water; the restrooms are nearby.

• Capacity: 25 people.
• Available: September through May, Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed during maple sugaring season, usually February and March.
• Rate: $100 per hour.

Rules for Every Rental

• Food may be served but cannot be prepared on site.
• The barns lock 15 minutes before the farm closes.
• On-site parking is available for all venues.
• No private rentals from June to August, because Drumlin Farm Camp is on site.

Planning a Farm Birthday

For a children's party, the Pavilion's spring and fall seasons line up with the busiest times in the barns: lambs and goat kids arrive in spring, and fall brings harvest. Guests can walk the stroller-friendly Farmyard Loop to see the animals and visit the Nature Play Area halfway down the welcome hill. See kids and families and farm animals.
